About
Omair Shad has spent over a decade in China turning factories into brands. He runs Lightspeed International, sourcing and distributing across Pakistan, the Philippines, Bangladesh and the Gulf — and helps manufacturers and founders on both ends of that chain build something worth owning.
Arrived in China in 2014. Civil Engineering at Wuhan University of Technology, 2020 — funded by flipping iPhones. Built a VPN and shut it down. Built Lightspeed. Opened Lahore. Went back to China. Mandarin fluency plus twelve years on the ground gives the factory side; four operating markets give the demand side.
Factory identification, vetting, negotiation and QC — inside the plants, in Mandarin, before money moves.
Identity, packaging, positioning and launch. A unit becomes a brand or it stays a 4% margin.
Chinese supply on one side, emerging-market demand on the other. I'm the trust layer between them.
Proof that I operate rather than advise.
Sourcing and distribution across Pakistan, the Philippines, Bangladesh and the Gulf.
Logistics and fulfilment arm moving product from FOB to shelf.
Education and training for founders trading with Chinese manufacturing.
Consumer marketplace built on directly sourced supply.
Tools and hardware brand built from vetted factory partners.
Bulk supply for buyers who want honest MOQs and real QC.
China market notes, sourcing playbooks, brand building, emerging markets.
Market Notes
The categories buyers are asking for this quarter, and the ones quietly dying.
Factory Floor
Most of them lied to me at least once. Here is how the lie usually shows up.
Sourcing Playbook
FOB in, true per-unit out — freight, duty, QC failure rate and financing included.
Legacy
حرف وہی رہتا ہے جو دل سے لکھا جائے
Only the word written from the heart remains.
My father — a decorated Urdu and Punjabi poet and professor. Verified couplet and translation to be placed here before launch.
Invite. Vetted factories, vetted buyers.
Factory ID, vetting, negotiation, QC.
Identity, packaging, positioning, launch.
Selective. Deal-dependent.
I operate my own brands and I connect other people's. I don't enter a category where I'm actively representing a client — and if I hold a position in something I introduce you to, you'll know before you spend a rupee.
Engagements start with an application, not a calendar link.
The checklist I use before wiring money to any factory. Sent once, then two market notes a month.
